InBrace Q & A

What is InBrace?

InBrace is a revolutionary orthodontic treatment that quickly and discreetly transforms your smile. It uses Smartwire™, a custom-designed oral appliance bonded to the back of your teeth. Smartwire incorporates Gentleforce™ technology. Gentleforce efficiently moves your teeth into the proper position according to a pre-approved custom care plan.

Unlike conventional metal braces, there’s no need for routine adjustments. InBrace utilizes advanced mechanics that move your teeth exactly how Dr. Lopatkin intends them.

Also, InBrace protects your tooth enamel. It significantly lowers the risk of tooth decay and gum disease and provides long-lasting results.

What types of alignment issues can InBrace correct?

Dr. Lopatkin uses InBrace to correct various alignment issues, including:

  • Crowding
  • Overlapping teeth
  • Open bite
  • Overbite

You might also benefit from InBrace treatment if you have noticeable gaps between two or more teeth.

What does treatment with InBrace involve?

Treatment with InBrace begins with a comprehensive oral exam and a discussion of your goals. Next, Dr. Lopatkin takes a series of digital impressions with an intraoral scanner. He uploads your scans to a computer program and uses special software to design your Smartwire.

After finalizing a design, he sends your scans to a dental laboratory that makes your Smartwire. About a week later, you return to the office, and Dr. Lopatkin bonds the Smartwire to the back of your teeth.

Once placed, the Smartwire uses gentle pressure to gradually move your teeth into the optimal position. Throughout treatment, brush and floss daily and visit your dentist every six months for an oral exam and professional teeth cleaning.

After you achieve the desired results, Dr. Lopatkin removes the Smartwire and provides you with a retainer that prevents your teeth from shifting out of place.

How long does InBrace treatment take?

The length of time that InBrace treatment takes depends on the alignment issues addressed and your commitment to Dr. Lopatkin’s plan. Most people achieve a balanced, symmetrical smile in 5-8* months, but it can take longer. Be patient throughout the process and follow Dr. Lopatkin’s instructions.

Is InBrace painful?

InBrace is safe and well-tolerated. The majority of people say it’s much more comfortable than other forms of orthodontic treatment like conventional metal or lingual braces.
